Meditation Workshop at the Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Centre
Join us to learn about what meditation is and develop an initial understanding of how meditation practice can bring a sense of balance, peace and clarity into your life and relationships. The one-hour workshop will include two short, guided meditations to introduce the practice of meditation and mindfulness, and discover the positive effects a regular meditation practice has on both you and others.
In this short workshop we will:
• Talk about the benefits of meditation and mindfulness for our mind and our wellbeing
• Include 2 short guided meditations: 1) a short 1-2 minute breathing meditation to relax and start the workshop, to get a sense of what meditation is, and 2) a 5-10 min meditation near the end of the workshop to put into practice some of the workshop's learning points.
Participants can sit in chairs if this is most comfortable and practical for everyone. You do not need to bring anything with you, though some people like to bring a notebook/pen to take notes.
