The Foster Support and Education Program is a specialized community-based program utilizing a Caregiver-centred approach in providing in-home support for Foster Parents and Extended Families.
Highly skilled Support Workers work 1-1 with Caregivers to assist them with the unique challenges of caring for the children and young people in their care. The program also provides a variety of support groups, trainings, skill development and Indigenous Teachings. We also provide protocol support and a phone support line for Consultation and Resource Support. These diverse support services provided to Foster Parents/Caregivers are designed to help build quality of caregiving capacity, reduce conflict/stress and preparing for any challenges that can arise.
The Foster Support and Education Program is contracted with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) within the Vancouver Coastal Region.
